About Us
Shirley’s Rustic Frames was established in January 2009 after spending a long time thinking of ways to uplift my community as unemployment was rife, with Woodstock going through a renaissance of sorts with many buildings being demolished and rebuilt. The wood that is used to produce these unique rustic frames makes use of flooring boards, ceiling boards, cornish, picture rails, door frames and skirting of these demolished buildings. I noticed many homeless people wandering about with wood from these sites.
Many of the people gathering wood came by my home and I realized that putting this wood to good use could benefit everyone concerned. I did some research and the rustic look seemed to be very popular amongst homemakers and from that Shirley’s Rustic Frames was born.
I now produce high quality rustic frames with each frame being unique because of where my materials come from. No two frames are alike so when purchasing frames from Shirley’s Rustic Frames take heart in the fact that you are doing your bit in uplifting and empowering a community.
Our innovative concept is recycling by means of collecting timber to produce unique custom design Rustic Picture frames. I started manufacturing my Rustic Frames and had no where to sell them until I decided to give it a go at the Camps Bay Fleamarket which is situated in Victoria Road Camps Bay. That is were it took off and business was booming. I receive all my local and international orders from Camps Bay Fleamarket.
The business premises is located at Allied House, 83 Coronation Rd, Maitland Cape Town, South Africa.
